Whilst at PwC, he set up the
cross-border M&A practice between India and South Africa.
To date, has worked on M&A transactions exceeding deal value of R40 billion.
Sector experience covering healthcare, renewable energy, industrials, FMCG, financial services and ICT.
An entrepreneur at heart, he also serves as a key advisor to family-owned businesses and Chairman of some large corporates in South Africa.
Founder of Tactus Capital, Mr-Mak Learning, ZKR Capital, Health X Capital, and PuRK Energy.
At Tactus Capital, Kurren has advised on some of the most complex and challenging transactions but closed them successfully such as:
The conceptualization, strategy, and delisting of Alviva Holdings Ltd (JSE listed) by a consortium of B-BBEE investors (R3.2 billion);
The buyout of Powertech Transformers from Altron Group Ltd (JSE listed) and finance raise (R800 million); and
The finance raise, debt restructuring, and merger transaction for Kholosani Holdings (R1.9 billion).
Kurren worked as a manager for PwC Banking and Capital Markets division before embarking on his M&A career, and his clients included Standard Bank, Rand Merchant Bank, Standard Bank Insurance Brokers, Eskom Treasury, and Momentum Group, among others.

Previously, Zahid was a partner at PwC, leading the risk assurance practice for Kwa-Zulu Natal and Swaziland.
Zahid has worked in South Africa and 18 other countries.
His industry experience includes healthcare, automotive, retail, FMCG, government, and financial services.
Some of Zahid’s clients include the JMH Group, Lenmed, Toyota, Unilever, Spar, Grindrod, NBI, and DoH.
Zahid serves on the boards of Albaraka Islamic Bank and Dube Tradeport Corporation.
Zahid is also a leadership trainer and executive mentor to current and future leaders.
Zahid is one of the founders of weFEEDsa, an NPO based in Durban, and ZKR Capital, a mid-market private equity fund based in Durban.
Dr. David Makovah

David conducts professional training interventions in capital markets, credit, finance, economics, and related areas. The portfolio of clients includes leading South African Business Schools and corporates.
David has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. This covers companies ranging from SMEs to listed blue chip corporates.
David began his career by serving articles at KPMG in Parktown Johannesburg. Subsequent to this he joined Nedbank’s Risk Division focusing on the commercial and corporate sections of the bank including structured finance and public financing. David was seconded for 6 months to Old Mutual Asset Management in London to assist with the launch of their first two hedge funds.
David provides valuable advice and input on Tactus Capital M&A mandates in particular on strategy.
David leads the Tactus Institute business and provides key insights to mandates under Tactus Capital and Tactus Advisory.
Rayhaan Adam

Biography:
Previously worked at PwC in both the Durban and Cape Town offices.
Rayhaan has spent the last six years on business expansion projects for various clients in Africa. He currently has experience in about 15 countries with networks in the specific government structures which are critical for doing business in Africa.
Rayhaan has experience with large clients some of whom are listed in South Africa and others internationally, in the Mining, Energy, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications and FMCG industries.
His diverse range of medium to large clients has allowed Rayhaan to bring practical benefits of large client governance structures and cross border market penetration abilities, to small and medium sized clients. It has also allowed him to bring practical application of flexible structures and key relationships of small to medium clients, to large entities, which is a key requirement, for expansion into African countries and Asia.
Rayhaan is a member on various Boards and Committees including the Malaysian Business Council of South Africa.
Rayhaan leads the Tactus Advisory business and provides valuable advice and input on Tactus Capital M&A mandates.
